VICTORIA, B.C., March 6, 2003 - CardioComm Solutions Inc. (TSX-V:CCG) (the "Company", "CardioComm"), is pleased to announce that it has entered into an exclusive agreement with Meditel Srl ("Meditel") of Milan , Italy .
The Agreement establishes Meditel as the exclusive customer for CardioComm's GlobalCardio™ in Italy for a minimum period of eighteen months. Meditel will provide, on an exclusive basis, interpretation services involving the recording of ECGs and interpretation of ECGs for health centres in Italy . Meditel will provide enrolling/interpreting physicians and health Centres users with telemedicine-cardiology services through GlobalCardio™.
Meditel promotes innovative telemedicine services through the Italian pharmacy network. Its primary focus of service lies within the field of cardiology, with 12 leads ECG diagnosis, arrhythmia loop event monitoring and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
In Italy there are more than 16,000 pharmacies; from a recent market research the 79.8% of the Italian population is interested in using new innovative diagnostic services offered by pharmacies.
The remote ECG management and interpretation is done with the use of the GlobalCardio™ system. The clinical service is managed by a group of specialists under the name of MediWebNet who's President, Dr. Roberto Rocci, was a leading member of the Telemedicine Experts Commission at the Ministry of Health in Italy . Dr. Rocci is a world-renowned cardiologist recognized for his knowledge and implementation of telemedicine.
