Choosing the right GEMS solution for your organization:
CardioComm is a company focused on solutions. CardioComm and its products offer many choices and we are here to help create the right solution for you. In GEMS there are choices for data entry modules, types of reports, and even the database engine on which the product runs. You only want to pay for what you need and not more. The flexibility of GEMS makes the perfect fit, a reality.
GEMS™ (Global ECG Management System) is one of CardioComm's flagship software packages that provides an integrated management system for recording information about all diagnostic, medical, procedural, and surgical activities that occur in the delivery of cardiac services.
A solution for the ever-increasing volume of confidential patient information, GEMS has modules for Arrhythmia Event Monitoring, Pacemaker Follow-Up (Trans-Telephonic and In-Clinic) and ICD Follow-up. GEMS is efficient, convenient, flexible and feature rich. GEMS tracks and stores comprehensive patient information including follow-ups with ECGs, symptoms, loaned cardiac event recorders, and reports for a variety of patient encounters.
GEMS software can be installed on most existing desktop computers (refer to minimum PC requirements) and is available in either MS Access or SQL. GEMS software can be used locally or become part of a network .
GEMS helps users:
- Keep files on patients in easy-to-reach electronic form.
- Keep comprehensive records of patient visits, including symptoms, prescribed medications, and diagnoses.
- Record details of pacemaker or ICD implants, measurements, and settings.
- Record ECGs from ranging from single event monitors to 12 lead ECG machines.
- View and edit ECGs on-screen as they are being recorded or later.
- Add measurements and associated notes and annotations to ECGs.
- Record details of exercise tests and rehabilitation prescriptions.
- Produce a variety of printed reports on patients.
- Keep a handy appointment scheduler.
Main User Interface
GEMS manages user's information from both a patient and physician-oriented point of view. All patient records and ECGs are displayed and managed in the GEMS main window. The following are highlights of the GEMS main user interface:
- Organization and Display - The GEMS main window is organized by a tree-view and data-panel approach. In the tree-view area, the primary record (patient, physician, associated health professional) appears as the top node in the tree, and all supporting information hangs below it, where as the data-panel displays the details of the selected node of the tree-view.
- Navigation - The search toolbar provides the ability to search the database for specific records. Matching records are displayed in the data-panel.
- Main Entity Records - Data in GEMS is presented hierarchically. At the top level are the main records, such as, patient, physician, AHP (associated health professional), contact, facility, and provider records. In the treeview, all information is presented in a form that centers on one of these types of record.
- Customization - There are many options for customizing the look of the GEMS screen. Various parts of the screen may be modified to suit individual or organizational needs. Toolbar buttons are available for each menu command in GEMS. Toolbars in GEMS can be created, modified, and deleted for quick access to different commands.
